WILMINGTON, MA — In the latest episode of WCTV’s “Where’s Wilmington?,” host Lisa Kapala interviews Rob Fasulo, owner of Honey Pot Maple Farm in Wilmington.
Fasulo discusses the importance of bees to the ecosystem; the short season for honey production in the Northern United States; how long it take for bees to make honey; the typical day of a beekeeper; where he gets his bees; how many bees live in each of his hives; if honey bees will sting humans; and the healing properties of honey.
Fasulo also points out that Wilmington’s abundance of wetlands, in areas like Martins Brook and Lubbers Brook, boosts honey production in the area. He also shares a video of himself installing a new hive.
