#3) Registration Deadline For Wilmington Little League Summer Softball Program

An announcement from Wilmington Little League:

The Wilmington Little League Board of Directors is very pleased to be offering a modified Summer Softball Program for 2020. We have been actively monitoring the Covid-19 situation, and after careful consideration, we’ve come up with a plan for a return to softball for this summer that we feel will get the girls back on the field while minimizing risk and keeping our players and player families as safe as possible. The goal of this program is to get our players back out on the fields, to knock the rust off of their softball skills, and most importantly, to have some fun outside this summer.

We’ve outlined the program below. Please note, the program won’t start until the middle of July, and it is subject to change, based on any additional guidance we get from state and local authorities.

This program will start on Tuesday, July 14, and will run on Tuesday and Thursday nights for 5 weeks, ending on Thursday, August 13.

We hope to have divisions at the U10, U12, and U14 levels. This will depend on the interest level and registration numbers. We are hoping to have at least two teams at each age level. We plan to have Tuesday nights geared toward instruction and drills in more of a clinic format, and then have the girls play a game on Thursday nights.
This will be an in-town program. We will not be playing games against any out of town teams. Tuesday clinics and Thursday games will be played at either Glen Road, West Intermediate, or Town Park.

Cost of the program is $50. Girls will receive a T-shirt style uniform shirt.

We have posted on our website the Covid-19 Return to Play guidelines that we will follow until further notice. This policy outlines the safety precautions we’ll be instituting regarding social distancing and the use of PPE and equipment sanitizing for players, coaches, and spectators. Please review this policy and reach out with any questions. The policy can be found HERE.

Registration is now open on Wilmington Little League’s website. Please register asap. Registration will close on June 26, 2020.
