3 Things To Know In Wilmington On Saturday, June 20, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 3 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, June 20, 2020:

#1) Get Out And Vote (If You’re Comfortable Doing So)

The 2020 Wilmington Annual Town Election is set for Saturday, June 20, 2020, from 8am to 8pm, at your regular polling locations. None of the races are contested. The following candidates are on the ballot:

  • Jomarie O’Mahony for re-election to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen
  • Gary DePalma for election to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen (replacing Mike McCoy)
  • Jennifer Bryson for re-election to the Wilmington School Committee
  • Steve Bjork for re-election to the Wilmington School Committee
  • Audrey Reed for election to the Wilmington Housing Authority (replacing Leona Bombard)

The Wilmington Town Clerk has encouraged voters to vote absentee by mail, by has strived to make the in-person voting experience as safe as possible.

#2) Book Store Next Door To Hold Outdoor Sale

The Book Store Next Door will hold its first outdoor bookstore sale from 10am to 2pm. Hardcover books are $2, softcover books are $1, DVDs are $2, and book on CD are $4. Please practice social distancing. All customer are required to wear a mask (unless they are under 2 yo). Volunteers will also be accepting gently used donations at this time, but under strict guidelines, both in condition and in the amount. One box of donations per family; the box must measure no larger than 18×12 (the size of a paper box). There will be no bags, you must carry your purchase in your hands.

#3) Summer Reading Kickoff With Toe Jam Puppet Band

Kick off our summer reading program with the WML Youth Services librarians and the Toe Jam Puppet Band at 10am. Sing and dance at home along with Toe Jam as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs and storytelling. Learn all about the summer reading program. All ages. Register HERE.
