Wilmington School District Announces The Retirement Of 21 Teachers & Staff, Including Many Notable Names

WILMINGTON, MA — At their virtual meeting last week, the Wilmington School Committee honored the district’s 21 staff members who are retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

  • Martha Bransfield – Educational Assistant at Middle School (12 years of service)
  • Jeffrey Brenner – School Psychologist (34 years of service)
  • Carroll Conquest – Art Teacher at Woburn Street School (12 years of service)
  • Ellen Costello – Cafeteria Manager at West (25 years of service)
  • Mary Ellen Danahy – Librarian at Woburn Street School (16 years of service)
  • Diane Ferguson – Educational Assistant at Boutwell (31 years of service)
  • Lynne Gordon – Grade 2 Teacher at Woburn Street School (24 years of service)
  • Muriel Gravallese – Reading Teacher at West Intermediate (22 years of service)
  • Sue Hendee – Physical Education Teacher at Shawsheen (33 years of service)
  • Ellen Hitchens – Educational Assistant at Middle School (12 years of service)
  • Deb Hornung – Guidance Counselor at Middle School (21 years of service)
  • Eileen Kimmett – Special Education Teacher at Shawsheen (not given)
  • Cheryl Knoettner – Music Teacher at Woburn Street (20 years of service)
  • Dawn Martell – Science Teacher at High School (25 years of service)
  • Barbara Mette – Band Director/Music Teacher (46 years of service)
  • Susan Morandi – Math Teacher at Middle School (12 years of service)
  • Pat Moroney – 2nd Grade Teacher at Shawsheen (21 years of service)
  • Patty Murray – Administrative Assistant at Middle School (21 years of service)
  • Maureen Noone – Special Education Teacher at Middle School (32 years of service)
  • Kathy Quigley – Physical Education Teacher at North (21 years of service)
  • Leann Sadowski – 2nd Grade Teacher at Shawsheen (32 years of service)

Collectively, these retirees have 471 years of dedicated service to the students of Wilmington!
