WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 3 things to know in Wilmington on Friday, June 12, 2020:

#1) DEADLINE: Wilmington Needs Lifeguard For Town Beach Season To Happen

The Town of Wilmington seeks talented individuals to join the summer Recreation Department team for the following positions. Employment application forms can be found on the town website at www.wilmingtonma.gov.

Silver Lake Lifeguards – approximately 25 – 35 hours per week

The Lifeguards perform lifesaving and first aid duties and ensure safety and comfort of beach patrons at all times.

The Beach would be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm from early July to mid-August. Lifeguards must be available weekdays and weekends.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Beach Supervisor, duties include, but are not limited to: lifeguard duty; facility maintenance; and enforcement of beach rules. May also include identification checks, gate attendance and collection of gate receipts.

Qualifications at time of application: Certified Lifeguard/Lifeguard Instructor with Waterfront Safety. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Hourly rate: $14.75

Gate Attendants – approximately 25 – 35 hours per week

The Gate Attendants enforce beach rules, check IDs and collect gate receipts.

The Beach would be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm from early July to mid-August. Gate Attendants must be available weekends.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Beach Supervisor, duties include, but are not limited to: enforcement of beach rules, identification checks; and collection of gate receipts.

Qualifications at time of application: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Hourly rate: $12.75

#2) FREE Curbside Meals For Wilmington Students

Wilmington Food Services is offering FREE “grab and go” breakfasts and lunches at Wilmington High School every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:30am to 11:30am.

This curbside pickup service is open to ALL Wilmington students in all grades, including those that do not attend Wilmington schools. The program has plenty of food and would like to feed more students than it’s currently feeding. There is NO contact — just unlock your trunk and food service workers will place the meals inside.

#3) Wilmington Library To Host Dungeons & Dragons For Teens

Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? Join DM Michaela for a virtual campaign via Google Hangouts every month all summer long!  This month’s session is Friday, June 12, 2020, from 6pm to 8pm.

Please register for all of the dates you would like to play using the email address where you’d like to receive the Google Hangouts invitation (no school emails, please). You will receive the Google Hangouts invitation via email 15 minutes before the program begins. You will need to register for an account on DnDBeyond to create your character before playing.
