Lately there have been many tough times, be it the pandemic or protests. We have seen similar before throughout our history, which is why I know as a town Wilmington will come out of this more united and stronger. It is because of this belief that I ask you, the voter, to cast your ballot for me on June 20th so that I can serve as your next Selectman in guiding Wilmington’s future to .
My name is Gary DePalma, and I’ve been happily married to Dianne DePalma for many years here in town. My daughter Melissa graduated from Wilmington High and now lives nearby with my grandsons Drew, a Marine, and Logan, who just entered fourth grade.
I have seen many changes throughout my years since raising my daughter here, and have always been engaged from behind the scenes. With my involvement over the years, I believe that my determination and experience here over the years and my persistent involvement in local politics has given me an edge to get things done. I know the people, the streets, and the community, and I love them all dearly.
There are a number of issues facing our town that need to to address all issues that face us for the betterment of Wilmington. Our senior center replacement, a fire station substation, and further work on Route 38 are all critical decisions in the coming years, critical decisions that I want residents to have their voices and opinions made on. We can build a new Wilmington in a manner that improves our services without overtaxing our residents, especially our seniors. Civility – an absent trait in government – is needed, and I will work tirelessly to be open to any suggestion, comment, or complaint. Facts and my love of our town are my guidance, and the well-being of our townspeople is my goal.
I’m asking you to cast your vote for me this June 20. We might not always agree, but I promise you that I always will listen, and together through discourse we can usher in an even better Wilmington.
