Massachusetts Lottery Eyeing Wilmington As Location For Claims Center

WILMINGTON, MA — Is Wilmington about to get lucky?

The Town of Wilmington is one of twelve communities currently in consideration to become home to a Massachusetts State Lottery Commission Retail Outlet and Claims Center where members of the public may redeem winning tickets in an amount up to and including $100,000, purchase tickets at a counter or at vending machines, and play KENO.

The State Lottery is planning to lease “a location with 5,500 square feet of usable retail space in a power center, strip mall, retail pad site, or outparcel, in Andover, Burlington, Lawrence, Lynnfield, North Reading, Peabody, Reading, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Wakefield, Wilmington or Woburn, for a 10-year term,” writes Martha Goldstein, Director of Office of Leasing and State Office Planning.

Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nancy Vallee recently reached out to many members of Wilmington’s business communities about this opportunity.
