WILMINGTON, MA — We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is organizing a car parade for this Saturday, June 6, 2020, beginning at 2PM from the student parking lot at the Wilmington High School.
All seniors interested in participating will need to register in advance by emailing Noreen Curdo at email@example.com, no later than noon on Friday, June 5, 2020.
The rules for this parade for the seniors are as follows:
- One senior per car, one car per family, including the senior (unless there are multiple seniors in the same household which should be noted when registering)
- One parent, guardian or sibling over the age of 18 will be driving the vehicle (not the senior)
- Driver will follow the rules of the road, with hazard lights flashing
- There will no congregating of spectators or seniors at the beginning or end of parade and volunteers will be at the parking lot to check cars in and ensure everyone remains in their respective vehicles.
Seniors are encouraged to appropriately decorate their vehicle and WOW will be giving 5 prizes to those that are creatively decorated. (Inappropriately decorated cars will not be allowed in the parade.)
The parade route will be from the student parking lot at the high school, up Middlesex Ave. following Route 62 towards the Middle School. The parade will loop around at the middle school and return on the same route.
Spectators are encouraged to make signs and show support for the seniors while respecting social distancing and wearing masks. They may line the parade route at Middlesex Ave./Route 62, Boutwell St., and Carter Lane on both sides of street.
