5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Friday, May 22, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Friday, May 22, 2020:

#1) FREE Curbside Meals For Wilmington Students

Wilmington Food Services is offering FREE “grab and go” breakfasts and lunches at Wilmington High School every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:30am to 11:30am.

This curbside pickup service is open to ALL Wilmington students in all grades, including those that do not attend Wilmington schools. The program has plenty of food and would like to feed more students than it’s currently feeding. There is NO contact — just unlock your trunk and food service workers will place the meals inside.

If you would like to take advantage of this program but cannot visit the school, please reach out to Wilmington’s Administrator of Food Services Mary Palen at mary.palen@wpsk12.com or 978-694-6064.

#2) Learn How To Use Zoom

The Wilmington Memorial Library is holding a Zoom class at 10am. If you’ve never used Zoom before, here’s you chance. Join technology librarian, Brad McKenna, for an overview of the features. If you have trouble installing the Zoom Client, here’s a video that should help: https://youtu.be/-bNCfdA6Iks.  This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least thirty minutes prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration. Please be sure to check your clutter/junk/spam boxes if the invite does not appear in your inbox. Register HERE.

#3) Wilmington Library To Host Virtual Preschool Storytime

Join Youth Services Librarian Barbara Rabb on Facebook Live at 10am for a virtual storytime with books, songs, and rhymes for preschool-aged children. Ages 3-5.

#4) Decorate Your Front Door For Memorial Day

The Wilmington Department of Veterans Services would like to encourage residents to decorate their front doors with a patriotic theme to remember the men and women who died while serving in the military. (Please avoid using the term “Happy Memorial Day.”)

The Wilmington Apple will be helping keep track of where the doors are located so that residents may enjoy them.

Photos of the doors may be sent to wilmingtondoorproject2020@gmail.com and will be uploaded to the Wilmington MA Veterans Services Facebook Page.
