BILLERICA, MA — The Shawsheen Tech recently joined many of its Massachusetts vocational-technical high school counterparts in assisting first responders, health care professionals, and vulnerable populations during the coronavirus crisis.

According to the Shawsheen Tech Alumni Association, the school donated supplies to several local medical facilities, including Lahey Burlington, Sunny Acres Nursing Home, New England Pediatric Care, Winchester Hospital, and the Billerica Police Department. Donations included hundreds of N-95 respirator masks and face masks; safety goggles; face shields; gowns; rubber gloves; antiseptic soap; and disinfecting wipes.

The school’s Life Science and Autobody programs were instrumental in collecting these supplies and dropping them off to the respective organizations.
