CHELMSFORD, MA — On Tuesday, March 17, the Chelmsford Board of Health was notified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) that a resident tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19), marking the first positive case for Chelmsford. The case is being handled according to stringent protocols recommended by DPH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes with hands
  • Cover your coughs or sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve (not with your hands)
  • Clean and disinfect surface areas frequently
  • Remain out of congregate settings, avoid mass gatherings, and maintain Social Distancing of at least 6 ft from others
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home from work or school if you are sick

Call your healthcare professional if you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19.
