Below is the latest press release from the Wilmington Good Guy Committee:
WILMINGTON, MA — There are three major issues on your calendar this week.
1. The Coronavirus Scare is not going away. Use hand sanitizer and avoid touching your mouth, eyes and nose as best you can.
2. Time to start getting your taxes filed. There are six (6) weeks to go!
3. And most importantly, get those 2020 Wilmington Good Guy nominations in!
There are many folks in Wilmington who were not even born when restaurant owner Rocco Depasquale was named the first recipient of the Wilmington Good Guy Award. Despite that, many of those “youngsters” continue to carry on Rocco’s legacy of Community Service today without looking for anything in return.
This year the Wilmington Good Guy Committee is looking to honor another one of those individuals who exemplifies the best of Wilmington; someone who volunteers and works tirelessly to make things better for everyone in Town without looking for anything in return.
Please tell us about this individual! What sets them apart from the others? How have they made Wilmington a better place to live?
Tell us about their volunteer efforts, their fundraising endeavors, their ability to engage and encourage others to act in a similar way!
Whether they be involved in youth activities, senior citizen events, Town-sponsored programs, or just stepping up and being involved in the Community when there is a need, let us know whom you think would be a fitting honoree for this year’s Award. This year’s winner will be honored on May 8th at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall with a dinner and a good natured “Roast”.
Nominations can be mailed to the Wilmington Good Guy Committee at 9 Reed St. Wilmington 01887, or emailed to wgoodguy@verizon.net. Be specific about how this individual serves the community!
(A reminder that an individual serving in a paid or elected position for the Town cannot be nominated in connection with the activities for which they are being recognized.)
Nominations must be received by 5pm on March 20, 2020.
