5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Monday, March 2, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Monday, March 2, 2020:

#1) Early Childhood Preschool/Kindergarten Registration Session

Children entering the Wilmington Public Schools, either PK or Kindergarten, must be registered on March 2, 2020, from 4pm to 7pm, or March 3, 2020, from 8:30am to 2pm, at Wilmington High School (159 Church Street). Full details can be found HERE.

#2) Staying In Your Home As You Age at Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a lecture on ‘Staying In Your Home As You Age’ at 2:30pm. The first part of this workshop will discuss how a home can be change using universal design concepts that make the home more suitable as the residents age. Strategies to pay for these home changes will also be discussed. Presented by Evangeline Bates a certified aging in place specialist, and Jack Wang, an independent financial professional planner. The second part of the workshop features Leslie May-Chibani, Assistant Director from Minuteman Senior Services who will talk about Massachusetts’ unique aging statewide network, Aging Service Access Points, and the long term services and supports that enhance consumers’ health, well-being, and independence. #3) Wilmington Community Playgroup At Wilmington Library

Drop in for a fun playgroup led by the CTI Family Resource Network at the Wilmington memorial Library at 9:30am. Ages 2-5. No registration required.

#4) Girls Who Code At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library has organized a Girls Who Code Class at 6pm. Learn to code and change the world! Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit working to educate, inspire, and equip middle & high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields. Wilmington is proud to offer a local chapter of this national organization founded with the mission to close the gender gap in the technology field. #5) Trivia At Pancho’s Cantina

Pancho’s Cantina (206 Ballardvale Street) hosts trivia every Monday from 6pm to 7:30pm. Trivia, organized by Lisa Kapala, is free to play and family-friendly. Three games are played — you can come for one or stay for all three. There will be generous prizes, awesome food and drink, and a staff that couldn’t be nicer.
