#1) Chocolate Festival At Wilmington Methodist Church

Do not miss the chocolate goodness at the Third Annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 2pm to 4pm, at Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street).  Sample an array of delectable chocolate treats, all prepared by the talented cooks of the Wilmington-Tewksbury United Methodist Women.

Purchase a plate and eat all you can at the event or fill a box and take it to go. Come early for the best selection.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available at the door or by e-mailing wilmtewksumw@gmail.com.

Looking for a special something for your valentine? Be sure to check out the silent auction at the festival.

This is a FUNdraising event to benefit the WTUMW’s outreach and mission efforts. Our mission work focuses on helping women and children in need, locally and globally.

#2) Wilmington Kiwanis Club’s Kiss Day

The Wilmington Kiwanis Club will be giving out kisses on Saturday, February 8, 2020 all around town. Be a dear and give a buck to “show some love” for their scholarship program and a get a kiss — a Hershey Kiss.

It’s all about charity and how the town can come together to support Wilmington students heading to college or trade schools. For more than 50 years, the Wilmington Kiwanis Club has been awarding scholarships to worthy students. Now they are stepping up their game. Kiwanians plan to raise more money than any other year and award more scholarships than ever before.

Thanks to the generous sponsors — Lucci’s Market, Susan’s Kitchen, Align Credit Union, Heavenly Donuts, State Rep. Dave Robertson, TJ’s Barber Shop, Strive Fitness, West Real Estate, Invest In Others, Team Blue ERA Realty, and Winbrook Promotional, donations from contributors will 100% go towards the scholarships.

So have your money ready when you go shopping or for coffee on Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Wilmington. Donate a buck, get a Hershey Kiss, and help Wilmington kids continue their education.

#3) Chili Cook-Off At Wilmington Congregational Church

The Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue) is holding its Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 6pm to 8pm.

Dust off your chili recipe and bring some to share! This is a fun food tasting event and there will be opportunity to vote for best tasting chili! If you don’t make chili, come taste others! If you don’t like chili, come for fellowship! Bring family and friends! This event is free of charge.

#4) Wilmington Youth Center Open

The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), is open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 23, 2019 to March 28, 2020.

The Wilmington Youth Center offers a variety of activities, including:

  • Board Games
  • Jukebox
  • Foosball
  • Ping Pong
  • Billiards
  • Video Arcade Room
  • Video Games (Game Cube, Playstation II, Wii, X-Box Kinect)

During the season, the Center sponsors several activities, including:

  • Dances with DJs
  • Craft Nights
  • Whiffle Ball Games

Snack items, including pizza, candy and beverages, are available for purchase each week.

A member’s parent is required to chaperon for a minimum of two Saturday nights.

Registrations will be accepted on Saturday nights during the season. Registration costs $40 per child or $80 per family. The registration form can be found HERE.

#5) Registration Session For Shawsheen Tech’s Learn To Swim Program

Shawsheen Tech will be holding registration for their upcoming Spring Learn to Swim Program.

Walk-in sign-ups will be held at the Shawsheen Tech Pool on Saturday, January 25, 2020; Saturday, February 1, 2020; and Saturday, February 8, 2020; from 9:15am and 11am, in the pool hallway. There is NO online registration.

  • Lessons run Saturday, February 29, 2020 to April 11, 2020, from 9am to 1pm, with the last class starting at 12:30pm.
  • Levels 1-4 (half-hour classes) cost $84.00.
  • Level 5 (one-hour classes) costs $168.00.

The 20th Annual Northeast Motorcycle Expo is set to return to the Shiners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road, Wilmington) on Saturday, February 8, 2020, 10am-5pm, and Sunday, February 9, 2020, 10am-5pm.
