WILMINGTON, MA — Nello Anthony Federico, age 64, of Worcester, formerly of Wilmington and Tewksbury, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2020.
Nello was born in Boston, MA on June 12, 1955; he was the cherished son of the late Nello and Elise (Willman) Federico. Nello was raised in Somerville, MA during his early years and then moved with his family to Wilmington as a young boy. Nello was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1973.
Nello was a devoted father and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone he knew. He will be remembered as a kind man, never judgmental, and would listen intently to anyones problems. He had the heart of a saint and that showed through his patience, optimism and compassion Nello enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, following sports but he especially loved spending time with this family who he loved with all his heart. Nello will always be in the hearts of all who loved him and will forever be missed.
Nello was the beloved father of Christina Federico and Breana Federico both of Medford, loving “Grandpa” of Joseph, Billy and Maria. Dear brother of Carmen Belanger of Wilmington, Loretta Occhinto of Salem, NH and Natalie Madigan of Tewksbury formerly of Wilmington who was also his best friend. Nello was the special uncle of Andrea Rivard, Tommy Madigan and Richard Madigan as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, February 7th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nello’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E 33rd St., New York, NH 10016.
