WILMINGTON, MA — The Town’s 2020 election season is off to a slow start, with only two of the five incumbents up for re-election pulling nomination papers, and NO challengers stepping forward thus far.
2 Selectmen Seats
Selectwoman Jomarie O’Mahony, who was elected to the board last year to serve out the remainder of former Selectman Ed Loud’s term, has pulled nomination papers. Her colleague — 30-year Selectman Mike McCoy — has yet to pull nomination papers.
2 School Committee Seats
On the School Committee side, School Committee Chair Jennifer Bryson, first elected in 2017, has pulled nomination papers, but her Vice Chair — Steve Bjork — first elected in 2014, has not to date.
1 Housing Authority Seat
Leonard Bombard, a longtime member of the Wilmington Housing Authority, has not pulled nomination papers at this time.

According to Assitstant Town Clerk Linda Golden, here are how things stand as of January 23, 2020:
Wilmington Board of Selectmen — 2 seats — 3-year terms
- Jomarie O’Mahony (incumbent) — pulled papers on 1/15 — has not returned yet
Wilmington School Committee — 2 seats — 3-year terms
- Jennifer Bryson (incumbent) — pulled papers on 1/14 — has not returned yet
Wilmington Housing Authority — 1 seat — 5-year term
- No candidates
The Town Moderator position and seats on the Shawsheen Tech School Committee are NOT up for re-election in 2020.
Important Dates
To get on the ballot, candidates must submit nomination papers, with at least 50 valid signatures from Wilmington voters, to the Town Clerk by Friday, March 6, 2020.
The Annual Town Election will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Polls will be open from 8am to 8pm.
The last day to register to vote for the Annual Town Election is Monday, April 6, 2020.
