WILMINGTON, MA — Joanne M. Bradley (Finn), fondly known as Joan to her family and friends, age 87, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2020.
Joan was born in Cambridge, MA on February 14, 1932; she was the dear daughter of Thomas and Ethel Finn. She spent her first few years in Cambridge before her family moved to Tewksbury when she was a young girl. Joan was raised and educated in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School with the Class of 1949.
On October 12, 1950, Joan married her “sweetheart” Joseph Bradley at St. Williams Church in Tewksbury. Joan and Joe moved to Wilmington where they raised six wonderful children. Joan was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother; she was always there to lend support and unconditional love to her family throughout the years. Joan, along with her family spent many wonderful summers vacationing at York Beach in Maine where everyone always had a great time and countless memories were made.
Joan was a hard worker; for more than 30 years she was employed as a office manager with the Market Basket Company. Joan worked at several store locations throughout the years; she had a great work ethic and an endearing personality with the customers as well as her co-workers. All attributes that made Joan successful in her career.
Joan also worked with the Wilmington Police Auxiliary and was a crossing guard for many years. Joan loved her fellow officers; she enjoyed the camaraderie and helping out within the community.
In her spare time, Joan, enjoyed taking long walks, she was an avid bowler, she loved to travel, go on cruises and most of all spend time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Bradley, devoted mother of Linda Bryant & her husband Chester of Illinois, Kathleen Wells & her husband Edwin of Florida, JoAnne Caraviello of Medford, Joseph Bradley Jr. of North Carolina, John Bradley & his wife Diana of Chester, NH and James Bradley & his wife Nancy of Colorado. Loving “Nana” of Jamie, Jason, Michael, Colleen, Nadine, Jaclyn, Nicholas, Nicole, Kyle, Daniel, John Patrick, as well as 17 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. Cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel (Blevins) Finn, step-daughter of the late Edna Finn and the late Joseph Bryan, dear sister of Judith Stevens & her husband David of Middleboro and the late Thomas Finn Jr. Joan is also survived by her nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, January 11th at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
