#1) Boston Typewriters Orchestra Concert
The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a concert with the Boston Typewriters Orchestra at 2:30pm. This is your chance to come and see and hear typewriters make music! Boston Typewriter Orchestra, or BTO, a Boston-based musical group summons the distinctive chirping noise of old manual typewriters to create catchy rhythms. Don’t miss this unique intergenerational event—appropriate for toddlers on up to the young at heart. Register HERE.
#2) Shawsheen Tech Swimming Lessons Registration
The Shawsheen Tech will be holding registration sessions for their upcoming “Winter Learn to Swim” Program.
Stop by the Shawsheen Valley Technical High School pool on Saturday, November 9, 2019, Saturday, November 16, 2019, and Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 9:15am to 11:15am, to register your child for the program. There is NO online registration.
Lessons run on Saturday, December 7, 2019 to Saturday, February 8, 2019, with no classes on December 21 and December 28.
EIGHT 30-minute lessons for beginning swimmers cost $88. EIGHT 60-minute lessons for more advanced swimmers cost $176.

#3) PHOTO CONTEST: Wilmington’s Most Attractive & Outrageous Pets
Three members of the Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce — Jessica Kretzenger Photography, Team Blue of ERA Key Realty, and Damore Law — have teamed up to host a Fun Pet Event on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 10am to 2pm, in Wilmington.
A pet photo studio will be set up at 372 Middlesex Avenue for your pet to come and get a professional photo done by Jessica Kretzenger. Bring your own pet costume or use one of ours, including a Patriots Jersey, Bruins Jersey, Teddy Bear, Santa Claus, Elf, and Snowman. All photos will be entered into the Pet Photo Contest.
Walk-ins are welcome, but organizers prefer you register your pet HERE.
The photo contest will feature three categories — most attractive, most outrageous and best personality. The three 1st place prizes are $100 Amazon Gift Cards.
There are other prizes and raffles to be won at the event, including:
- Free Dog Walks
- Free Pet Grooming
- Free Training
- Free Dog Treats
All proceeds raised at this charity event will be donated to the Northeast Animal Shelter.
#4) 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser To Support Reegan Noble’s Family
Wilmington Travel Basketball is organizing a special 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Wilmington Middle School. The event will raise funds for the family of Reegan Noble, a Wilmington 14-year-old who is currently battling Non-Hodkin’s Lymphoma.
This double elimination tournament will feature teams of 3-5 players in separate male/female divisions:
- Boys & Girls — Grades 3+4 (Ivy Division) — play at 9:00am
- Boys & Girls — Grades 5+6 (ACC Division) — play at 11:00pm
- Boys & Girls — Grades 7+8 (Big 10 Division) — play at 1:00pm
- Boys & Girls – High School Division — play at 3:00pm
- Men & Woman — 18-35 Division — play at 5:00pm
- Men & Woman — Over 35 Division — play at 6:00pm
All games will be officiated and 10 minutes in duration. Teams are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their division’s designated start time.
Registration is now open. To register, email Wilmington Travel Basketball President Joe Maiella at email@example.com by Friday, November 8, 2019. There is a team fee of $75. All proceeds will benefit Reegan and her family. Please make checks payable to “Wilmington Travel Basketball.” Checks can be given on the day of the tournament at the check-in table.
Food, pizza and snacks will be for sale during the event. Make sure to try your luck at the Gift Basket Raffle Table and the 50/50 Raffle.
Local businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to become a “Basket Sponsor” my making a $100 donation. Checks can be mailed to “Wilmington Travel Basketball” at 15 Pinewood Avenue, Wilmington. Wilmington Travel Basketball’s Tax ID number will be made available to “Basket Sponsors.”

#5) Wilmington Youth Center’s Registration Night
6th, 7th and 8th grade students living in Wilmington are invited to join the Wilmington Youth Center and enjoy being part of a community that offers a safe place to hang out with your friends and have fun!
The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), will be open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 23, 2019 to March 28, 2020.
Registration Night will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 6:30pm. Students must be accompanied by a parent in order to register. The registration form can be found HERE. Registrations will also be accepted on Saturday nights during the season. Registration costs $40 per child or $80 per family.
