WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Middle School PAC is taking a different approach to fundraiser. Rather than sell anything or hold various fundraisers throughout the school year, the PAC is asking parents to make an online donation upfront.
The PAC recently sent out the following message regarding its 5th Annual Direct Donation Drive:
The 2019-2020 Middle School PAC DIRECT DONATION DRIVE is here!
Based on the success of the Direct Donation Drive last year, our goal is to fund the PAC budget with 100% family participation this year. We raised $5647 for our students in the 2018-2019 school year and we can promise you, you WILL NOT be solicited with catalogs to purchase unwanted items.
This fundraiser is in lieu of sending students home with the task of selling door-to-door, collecting money, and delivering goods.
Please help us avoid catalog selling by supporting our PAC with your one time donation, and helping us achieve our goals to support our students and faculty. We call it our ONE AND DONE Drive…one donation and your are done for the year! Thank you in advance.
Some PAC Humor:
__$15 I do not want to bake, so here is the money I would have spent on those cupcakes.
__$25 I do not want to hit up friends, family and coworkers, so here is the money I would have spent buying wrapping paper.
__$50 I do not want to walk, swim, or run in any activity that has the word “thon” in it. Here is the money I would have spent on my child’s “free” t-shirt.
__$75 I don’t want to attend any fancy balls, so here is the money I would have spent on a new outfit.
__$100 I really wouldn’t have helped anyway, so here is $100 to forget my name.
$___ I am making this donation to express my appreciation for having nothing to buy, sell, or do except to go to http://wmspacdonationdrive20192020.mydagsite.com/ and donate!
The PAC wishes to spend approximately $100 per child per year. Please consider a donation of at least $25, $50, $75 or $100 (suggested amount) per student. By donating the most that you can, your children’s educational experience will be the best that it can be! With an increased budget, the PAC supports many wonderful programs, events and initiatives.
In addition to the school’s Enrichment programs, the increased budget will also support programs such as the Guest speakers on topics such as Bullying, Vaping and Substance Abuse issues, Teacher/Classroom Resources, Technology and Teacher “Wish List” items, scholarships, leadership programs along with special events honoring our students and teachers. PAC also will fund the Italian ices for the annual Field Day events, the 6th grade orientation/scavenger hunt ice cream social, 8th grade Spring Fling items along with the Annual Holiday Treat-Fest and our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.
We hope you will realize the great benefit the PAC is for your child (children) and you will join PAC at the next PAC meeting in September!
