Get Free Mental Health First Aid Training In Wilmington On October 19

WILMINGTON, MA — In recognition of National Recovery Month, the Wilmington Substance Abuse Coalition is hosting a Mental Health First Aid training on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 9am to 5pm, in the Wilmington Public Safety Building’s Training Room.

This FREE training is open to all community members, caring individuals, faith leaders, hospital staff, employers, and other curious adults.

This 8-hour class teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. You learn the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing mental health or substance use concerns and help connect them to the appropriate care.

The class covers common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use, how to interact with a person in crisis, and how to connect the person to help.

Attendees must RSVP by October 9, 2019 to Samantha Reif at sreif@wpd.org or 978-694-2064.
