Shawsheen Tech Holds 1st Annual Ice Bucket Challenge Day, Raises $1K+ For ALS Research (with VIDEO)

BILLERICA, MA — The Shawsheen Tech held its first ever Ice Bucket Challenge Day on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 to raise funds for ALS research.

Students could make a donation for the right to douse their favorite teachers with ice cold water. Students AND teachers could make a contribution to soak their favorite administrators.

The honor to drench Superintendent Melanie Hagman was won anonymously via an auction. The highest bidder “allegedly” had someone else do the dousing.

The event, organized by Guidance Counselor Angela Caira, of Wilmington, raised more than $1,000 for The Angel Fund for ALS Research.
