WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Sunday, September 8, 2019:
#1) Wilmington Family Fun Day At Yentile Farm
Wilmington Community Television is holding its Annual Family Fun Day from 10am to 1pm at the Yentile Farm Recreational Facility.
“This is WCTV’s way of saying thanks to the community for their support,” said Executive Director Shaun Neville. “The event is free and open for all Wilmington families.”
Families can expect free balloons, face-painting, popcorn, and music.
The event will also feature demonstrations from local dancers, cheerleaders, and martial arts students:
- Precision Dance students will perform around 10:30am.
- Wilmington Pop Warner Cheerleaders will perform around 11am.
- Iron Clad Martial Arts students will perform around 11:30am.
Last year, the Wilmington Fire Department came by with a Fire Truck, and the neighborhood ice cream truck made an appearance.
“Parents and children can also meet WCTV staff and learn more about our membership and youth programs,” added Neville.
#2) Grandparents Day Celebration At Yentile Farm
The Wilmington Elderly Services Department is holding its 2nd Annual Grandparents Day Celebration from 1pm to 3pm at the Yentile Farm Recreational Facility.
A Zumba Class for grandparents and grandkids will take place around 1:15pm, followed by a break, then a Tai Chi class at 2pm.
“We’re expecting a fun, exciting day. It’s going to be a great event,” said Wilmington Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello. “We’re anticipating a good turnout — the wonderful instructors, Kelli and Greta, each have their own big followings, plus we expect people already at the park to come over and join in the fun.”
In between classes, grandparents and grandkids are encouraged to take advantage of the park’s playground and walking trail. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be given away. There will also be face painting for young and old alike.
