Wilmington To Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of Woodstock: FREE Tribute Concert Set For October 18

WILMINGTON, MA — Come celebrate the music and the spirit of the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival — the most famous music festival of all time — that defined a generation and changed the world.

The Workingman’s Band will hold its “Tribute To Woodstock” concert on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 7pm in the Wilmington Middle School Auditorium (25 Carter Lane).

The Workingman’s Band’s repertoire will include songs heard 50 years ago from Canned Heat, Arlo Guthrie, The Who, Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, John Sebastian, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Youngbloods.

The best part? This event is FREE (yes, FREE) and open to all thanks to the generosity of Wilmington’s Sarah DJ Carter Lecture Committee.

The committee’s funding comes from an endowment left to the Town in 1907 through the will of the late Sarah D. J. Carter. Carter requested that these events, which are held annually, remain free of charge and open to the public.

The committee is comprised of five residents appointed by the Wilmington Town Manager to serve three-year terms. Throughout the year, the committee is on the lookout for talented musicians and entertaining programs to present to residents and friends of the Town of Wilmington.
