5 Things To Do In Wilmington On Wednesday, August 14, 2019

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Wednesday, August 14, 2019:

#1) Registration Opens For Senior Center’s Trip To Vermont

The Wilmington Senior Center has organized a fun trip to the Vermont Country Store and The Green Mountains on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Board a luxury Silver Fox Coach and enjoy the byways of New England and experience some of Vermont’s best! Tickets cost $55 for Wilmington residents and $79 for non-residents. Registration begins on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Senior Center’s Front Desk.

#2) Wilmington Board of Appeals Meeting

The Wilmington Board of Appeals meets at 7pm at Town Hall’s Room 9. Read the agenda HERE.

#3) Wilmington Recreation Department’s Kids Dreamcatcher Class

Signup for a fun afternoon of arts and crafts with our Dreamcatcher class on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Open to kids entering grades 3-6.

In some Native American cultures Dreamcatchers are handmade wall hangings placed where a person sleeps to ensure good dreams.

When a person goes to sleep, the Dreamcatcher will attract all dreams. Bad dreams get trapped inside the web; good dreams pass through. In the morning light, bad dreams dissolve and disappear.

In this class you will stencil a picture of a Dreamcatcher on wood using wood stain and paint. All supplies included.

To register, visit https://www.wilmingtonma.gov/recreation, call 978-658-4270, or stop by Town Hall, Room 8. The Department is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

#4) Book Store Next Door Open

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 6pm (extended summer hours). All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.

#5) Car Seat Installs At Public Safety Building

The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.
