RAYMOND, NH — Verda J. Murray, 90, passed away suddenly on August 5, 2019 at her home in Raymond, NH. She was born February 27, 1929 in Malden, MA., daughter of the late Robert B. Johnson and Verda J. (Wentzel) Johnson.
Verda was one of three children in her family. She grew up in Wilmington, MA and she was a graduate of Wilmington High School. In 1950, she married Roy E. Murray. They moved to NH to raise their family and lived many years in the Raymond area. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband and three children. Verda was predeceased by her loving husband in 2005.
Verda was very fond of animals, especially her three cats. She was an avid Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox fan.
She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Willis Johnson and Howard Johnson.
Verda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edmund and Karen Murray of Auburn, NH, son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy Murray of Candia, NH, daughter and son-in-law, Linda Murray and Robert Drowne of Raymond, NH, 3 grandchildren, John Murray, Matthew Murray and Sara Murray, 1 great-granddaughter, Starr Murray.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, NH.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at Holbrook Cemetery, Candia, NH.
