Wilmington Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Connecticut Crash

MANCHESTER, CT — 59-year-old Mark Geanakakis, of Wilmington, suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle car accident on Interstate 84 in Connecticut during the early morning of Saturday, August 3, 2019.

According to Connecticut State Police, Geanakakis was driving east on I-84, near Exit 63, around 2:50am on Saturday when his SUV was struck from behind by another SUV driven by 37-year-old Jermaine Clark, of East Hartford.

Geanakakis was ejected from his vehicle, which rolled over and caught fire.

Geanakakis suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Clark suffered minor injuries and was evaluated on scene by emergency personnel.

The accident remains under investigation.
