POLICE LOG for July 25: Wilmington Man Arrested For OUI; Men Carrying Sledgehammers Down Street; Turkeys Causing Traffic

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights of the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 25, 2019:

  • A caller reported two juveniles knocked on her basement windows and then ran off into the bushes at the end of the road. Police responded and were unable to locate the juveniles. (12:08am)
  • Animal Control Officer had conversation with dog owner who left dog in vehicle outside the Post Office. Owner left the vehicle running with the AC on. Checked OK. (11:26am)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on Richmond Street. No injuries. Vehicle towed. Driver was issued a citation for failure to yield while making a turn. (2:40pm)
  • A Woburn Street resident reported someone tampered with the ignition of his motorcycle. (5:32pm)
  • A resident requested an officer check on two male parties carrying sledgehammers on Aldrich Road while walking toward Route 129. Police responded. Parties claimed to be preparing to become Army Rangers and were excising with weighted packs and sledgehammers to replicate weight of riffles. (5:48pm)
  • Police received report of several turkeys in the intersection of Woburn Street and Lowell Street. Police sent them on their way. (7:39pm)
  • Alex S. Condell (24, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor. Condell allegedly struck a parked vehicle at the Shell Gas Station on Main Street. (9:31pm)
