Fiction Critique Group *RR

Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials before the meeting. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Revere Beach Memories *RR

Don’t miss this trip down memory lane. Revere Beach, established as America’s first public beach in 1896, was a place that created lasting memories for thousands of beach goers. The Revere Beach of old comes alive through photos and stories presented by Bob Upton, a Revere Beach enthusiast and historian. Join us for a night of history and nostalgia. Bring your own photos and stories to share as well.

Technology librarian, and co-host of the award-winning podcast Bridging the Digital Divide, Brad McKenna will talk about podcasts–how to get started if you’re interested in hosting your own or where to find them if you’re interested in just listening to them.
The Sputnik Years*RR

When a Russian rocket lofted Sputnik 1 into orbit on October 4, 1957, the worldwide reaction was a mixture of awe and apprehension. The Space Age — and the Space Race — had begun. To an American public that had grown accustomed to our country’s growing global primacy, Sputnik’s launch was a traumatic wake-up call. This retrospective will explore the events leading up to Sputnik’s launch, the political fallout that led to America’s response (Explorer 1), the formation of NASA, and the crucial role that amateur astronomers played in tracking the first satellites. Presented by J. Kelly Beatty, an award-winning writer and communicator thatspecializes in planetary science and space exploration as Senior Contributing Editor for Sky & Telescopemagazine.

Join Brett Outchcunis, professional entertainer, motivator, dancer and DJ, for a show that is half yo-yo tricks and half dance party! We’ll do popular line dances, like the Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide, as well as play freeze dance, limbo, and use hula hoops! Ages 4+
Preschool Storytime: Laugh Out Loud!
