Wilmington’s Woodbriar Health Center SOLD To Pointe Group Care

WILMINGTON, MA — The below press release is from Pointe Group Care, as shared by the Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce:

Pointe Group Care, a private, family-owned and locally managed senior living and rehabilitation provider, announced it has completed the acquisitions of the former Grosvenor Park Health Center in Salem and the former Woodbriar Health Center in Wilmington. The facilities have been renamed, respectively, AdviniaCare Salem and AdviniaCare Wilmington, and the acquisitions were approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Pointe Group Care has been operating the facilities since October and has focused its efforts on improving resident safety and updating facility infrastructure.

“Our team has worked diligently to re-establish the sterling reputations of these health care centers within their respective communities,” said Chris Hannon, director of operations at Pointe Group Care. “We have focused our energies and investments on enhancing the clinical preparedness of the staff and improving the infrastructure that is necessary to provide highquality care in a safe and welcoming environment. We look forward to working closely with our partners in the communities that we are now serving in Salem and Wilmington.”

Pointe Group Care oversaw capital improvements at both facilities, including replacing resident furniture and repairing major equipment. The company also appointed new leadership teams for administrative and nursing services. Each facility now has an active Family Council to ensure engagement with the loved ones of residents and patients, and these groups are encouraged to participate in facility initiatives and ensure that leadership is meeting their expectations.

“We worked closely with Pointe Group Care during their tenure as manager of the Grosvenor Park and Woodbriar facilities, and their efforts during that period reflected a focus on resident care and a strong understanding of clinical, regulatory and facility-related priorities,” said Paul Valentine, senior managing director of KCP Advisory Group, the court-appointed receiver of the two facilities that were acquired. “We very much enjoyed the relationship with them and anticipate that those in the Salem and Wilmington areas will appreciate these centers being operated under the AdviniaCare banner.”

The new AdviniaCare Salem is a 123-bed facility located at 7 Loring Hills Ave. in Salem. AdviniaCare Wilmington is a 142-bed facility located at 90 West St. in Wilmington. Each facility employs about 125 people.

The acquisitions expand Pointe Group Care portfolio to five rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, including facilities in Brockton, Chelsea and Fall River. The company also plans to purchase the five-star Pleasant Bay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Brewster.
