WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Monday, July 22, 2019:

#1) Wilmington Community Development Technical Review Team Meeting

The Wilmington Community Development Technical Review Team meets at 9:30am in Town Hall’s Room 9. Read the agenda HERE.

#2) “Women In Business” Event with Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber Of Commerce

The Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting a “Women in Business” event Monday, July 22, 2019, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, at Austin Prep (101 Willow Road, Reading).

Have you ever daydreamed about changing careers? Hear first-hand from Sheila Clarke, who was a successful HR recruiter with an eye for design. Fast forward a few years, and she is now the owner of M H Interiors and was recently featured on an episode of HGTV’s House Hunters. Come learn about her story, how she leveraged her listening and communication skills in her new career and the steps she took along the way to make the leap. This series typically sells out so pre-paid, advanced registration is required.

Registration, networking and appetizers begin at 5:30pm. Presentation begins at 6:15pm.

Tickets cost $10 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased in advance HERE. Have a question? Contact Executive Director Nancy Vallee at nancy@wilmingtontewksburychamber.org.

The Melrose, Wakefield Lynnfield, Stoneham and Wilmington/Tewksbury Chambers are hosting the event.

#3) The Buzz Book Club Meeting

The Buzz Book Club is holding its monthly meeting at 1pm at the Wilmington Senior Center. This month’s featured book is “She Would Be King” by Wayetu Moore. Members are asked to get their own book for this meeting. No registration required.

#4) Wingmasters At Wilmington Memorial Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting Wingmasters at 6:30pm. This presentation, which incorporates five live birds, gives an overview of eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. The program is designed to explain predation, the birds’ place at the top of the food web, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. Because many birds of prey are declining in number, this presentation also features one or more of the endangered raptors that we care for, and explains why these species face an uncertain future. Ages 4+. Register HERE.

#5) Town Beach Open

The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
