Hazmat Scare In Wilmington On Monday Night (with PHOTOS)

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Fire and Police responded to an ammonia leak at Monogram Gourmet Foods, located at 330 Ballardvale Street, on Monday night.

According to the police log, fire, police and a hazmat team responded to the food manufacturing plant around 9:20pm after receiving reports of a woman fainting from a suspected ammonia leak. The building was evacuated and the woman was transported by the Fire Department. First responders noted an ammonia odor emanating from the roof, but the building’s sensors did not activate.

The building was ultimately determined to be safe.
