Wilmington Little League’s Latest Game Summaries

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a recent Wilmington Little League game summary:

Single A: Rays vs. Braves on Monday, June 10

The Rays played a great game against the Braves Monday night. The runs were few and far between for the two teams in this pitcher’s duel. Benji Hebert, Brendan Cyr, Alex Sullivan, and Michael Crowley all contributed with hits. Cameron White and Tommy Roofe both made great plays in the field including Cameron stopping a screaming hit from getting into the outfield and Tommy catching a fly ball. Ryan Doherty and Jackson Childs both pitched scoreless innings while each getting strikeouts.

For the Braves, the baseball bats were swinging as the they stepped to the plate with solid hits from Evan Jageler, Jacob Andrade-Silva, Joslyn Coughlin and Davio Dicenso.  The Braves defense was led by the pitching of Mason DeRose and Evan Jageler who each had key strike outs that led to two scoreless innings.  The defense was further helped by the heads up play at short stop by Ben Card who fielded the ball and made a great play at third connecting with Braves third baseman Mike Trimarchi.  The Braves outfield was protected by the efforts of Alex Murphy, Jackson Parker, and Cameron Jaynes who closed up the gaps and backed up all plays made in the infield.
