It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter in support of Greg Bendel in his candidacy for re-election to the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Wilmington. I have known Greg personally for the last 13 years, and I cannot speak highly enough about his integrity and his commitment to the Town of Wilmington.
For the past three years, Greg Bendel has done an outstanding job in his capacity as a member of the Board of Selectmen. During this time, Greg has always done the right thing, be it popular or not. Greg has resisted pressure to vote in a certain way, or to take a certain position, in an effort to allow the process to follow its own course. Greg Bendel is a strong believer in the process and a stronger believer that, in the end, the process will insure that things will turn out the way they are supposed to. I am impressed with Greg Bendel’s positions on many of the issues facing the Town of Wilmington today, and I am impressed that his conscience and his convictions have allowed him to be true to himself, and to the residents of Wilmington, even when those positions have differed from many around him.
I watched Greg Bendel last week on the candidates’ debate on WCTV, and I was impressed with his poise, his answers to some very difficult questions, and, most importantly, I was impressed with his vision for Wilmington. Greg Bendel is a young man who has a vision for this town, and he will not be deterred until his vision is fulfilled.
As an elected member of the Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational School Committee for the past 24 years, I have also had the privilege, and the pleasure, of working with Greg in his capacities as a teacher and a coach. Greg Bendel is held in high esteem at Shawsheen for his dedication to his work, his students, and for the enthusiasm that he brings to the classroom, and the basketball court, on a daily basis. Greg Bendel is a man that I would want to be teaching, and coaching, my child. We are truly fortunate to have his professionalism and his dedication at Shawsheen Tech.
Greg Bendel’s commitment to the Town of Wilmington does not begin, or end, with his duties as a member of the Board of Selectmen. Before being elected as a selectman, Greg was, and remains, an active member of the Wilmington Knights of Columbus. Greg was also an enthusiastic and active member of the Wilmington 4.0 Campaign Committee, which helped to promote the new Wilmington High School. In addition to these matters, Greg runs several community basketball camps for children in Wilmington, and is very active in Local Heroes. Prior to his election as a selectman, Greg was also a five year member of the Wilmington Housing Authority, having served as its Chairman in 2014.
In short, Greg Bendel is exactly what I am looking for in choosing a candidate for the Board of Selectman. He is a diligent, honest, hardworking and committed to representing each and every one of us.
Please join with me in voting for Greg Bendel on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
