LIBRARY LINEUP: Story Walk Grand Opening At Rotary Park On Apr. 13

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at www.wilmlibrary.org or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Please note we request registration for programs that are marked *RR. Thank you to the Friends of the Library for funding support for library programs!

Adult Events

Networkers—Networking while Breakfasting! *RR
Monday, April 8, 10 am
Meet and network with fellow job seekers while enjoying a light breakfast. You will have the opportunity practice your elevator speech, ask questions of the group, and learn from each other. A few fun activities will round out the morning.

Gmail *RR
Tuesday, April 9, 10 am

Is the number of unread emails in your Gmail inbox always growing? Having trouble locating important messages or creating contacts? Join us for an overview of this popular email service and learn tips for easier inbox navigation and organization.

How to Identify Mushrooms *RR
Tuesday, April 9, 7 pm
Join Gary Gilbert, an architect who has been studying mushrooms since the 1970s, for an informative lecture on everyone’s favorite fungi. He will discuss how mushrooms function in the ecosystem, their identifying features, and a brief tour of some common genera and species we see in our area. Gary is a member of the Boston Mycological Society, The Peugot Sound Mycological Society, and the North American Mycological Society.

Wetland Resource Areas and Conservation Land in Wilmington: What Does It All Mean? *RR
Wednesday, April 10, 7 pm
Town Conservation Agent Ryan Hale will provide an overview of the Town’s wetland resource areas and conservation land. The second half of the talk will focus on conservation land -Town-owned parcels that are set aside and managed by the Wilmington Conservation Commission. Ryan will discuss the many opportunities for passive outdoor recreation on conservation land, including trails for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing, and fishing in streams and lakes where MassDEP stocks rainbow trout. Ryan will also talk about the educational and volunteer opportunities available.

Coffee with a Cop
Wednesday, April 17, 10 am
Drop in, grab a tea or coffee, and chat with a police officer. Learn about the rights of the public as well as the roles and responsibilities of police and community in a relaxed and open setting. All questions welcome.

Current Affairs Discussion Group*RR

This group is for all who would like to broaden their knowledge of current national and international affairs. You will have the opportunity to discuss topical events and learn from others. Led by facilitator Dan Hall.

Compare and contrast traditions surrounding Easter eggs in France, Italy, and Spanish-speaking countries. Dye and paint egg shells, and make confetti-filled cascarones! Grades 9-12

Children learn to express their creativity, practice fine motor skills, and experiment through art. Join us as we discover our inner artists through creative play! Ages 18 months-2

Drop-In Baby Times
Saturday, April 13,9:30 am
Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.

Story Walk Grand Opening
Saturday, April 13, 3 pm
Join us at Rotary Park to see the new Story Walk around the pond. Book pages from the book In the Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming will be displayed around the pond.  Walk with your family to get exercise and read a book at the same time!  Snacks will be served.
