FT. WASHINGTON, MD — Betty Jean Maddox, Age 90, of Ft. Washington, MD passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her residence. She was born on November 28, 1928 in Wilmington, MA to the late Ralph Arthur and Myrtle Carter Taylor. “Bet”, “Nana” or the “Head-Honcho” was a waitress and bartender at Shuler’s Restaurant in Clinton, MD. She specialized in making Mudslides and Pink Drinks. She enjoyed spending time by the water, including fishing, boating and going to the beach. She loved spending time with her family.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Edward B. Maddox, Sr.; mother of of Cheryl Ann (Lloyd) Clark, Gregory Alan Maddox, Brenda Jean (Don) Young and the late Edward B. Maddox, Jr.; sister of the late Ralph A. “Buddy” Taylor, Jr, Dorothy Johnson, Barbara Thomas and Verna Lefave. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 10 a.m until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
