Analog Devices To Host Science & Tech Fair At Wilmington Middle School On April 12

WILMINGTON, MA — Analog Devices’ engineers will promote science and technology education through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and a fact-finding competition during the 18th Annual Science and Tech Fair on Friday, April 12, 2019, from 7:30am to 1:40pm, at Wilmington Middle School (25 Carter Lane) in Rooms 247 and 248.

Analog Devices, a global leader in high-performance semiconductors or signal-processing applications and long-time supporter of the Wilmington Public Schools, will host the Wilmington Middle School and Technology Fair to approximately 300 students in Grade 7.

Approximately 50 engineers from Analog Devices, Inc. will bring science and technology to life by partnering with students to conduct hands-on experiments.

Activities will include battery powered electrical wiring, shortwave radios, soldering practice, magnets and electro-magnets, strobe light demonstrations, hands-on shop activities (drilling etc), an integrated circuit (IC) demonstration and a dry-ice demonstration.

Also featured will be a detailed description of how Analog Devices’ integrated circuits are manufactured, including hands-on viewing through a microscope.

As part of the fair, students will participate in a fact finding competition, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Analog Devices has hosted the Wilmington Science and Technology Fair for approximately 18 years, and has supported local students through the Wilmington School Business Partnership program for over 20 years.
