CHELMSFORD, MA — Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra presents “Princesses and Pirates: Winter Family Concert” on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2pm at the Chelmsford Senior Center (75 Groton Road, North Chelmsford).
Five Wilmington Middle School strings students — Hannah Bryson, Anna Jancsics, Lindsey Kane, Kyla Kelley, and Priscilla Vo — will be among the musicians performing.
This family-friendly concert is geared towards introducing children of all ages to classical music. The theme is “Princesses and Pirates.” Come and have a listen and enjoy the soothing sounds of a program that features music from the hit film Pirates of the Caribbean, “Princess Leia’s Theme” from Star Wars and several lively classical tunes.
The winter concert series also features our String Student Play-In, a yearly tradition in which young string students of various levels of experience join the orchestra in performing a portion of the concert program.
And stick around after the concert program for a 30-minute “Meet the Instruments” session. This gathering allows children to meet the wonderful musicians and get a closer look at and learn more about the instruments that make up the ensemble.
Admission costs $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens; and $5 for children and students with ID. Free admission to those who dress up as a princess or pirate. Tickets can be purchased online HERE.
