WILMINGTON, MA — At Wednesday night’s School Committee meeting, Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand provided an update on the Woburn Street Elementary School Principal Search.
“The district has recently launched a search to identify a permanent principal for the Woburn Street Elementary School following the recent announcement of Mr. Jeff Strasnick’s retirement,” Brand wrote in a memo he summarized for the committee. “Applications are currently being accepted and the posting closes the middle of February.”
Brand announced the members of the Principal Search Committee, which will screen applicants, conduct interviews, and select a group of candidates to advance in the process. The committee consists of community members Fiona Logan and Jaimelyn Raposa; school staff Lisa Bertolami, Kristen Tozza, Richard Wheatley, Carroll Conquest, and Justine Palermo; and district staff Christine McMenimen and Alice Brown-LeGrand.
Brand outlined the search’s timeline:
- January 15: Position Advertised
- February 15: Deadline to receive applications
- March 6-8: Initial interviews conducted by Search Committee
- Week of March 11: Finalists Announced
- Week of March 18: Finalists visit Wilmington
- Week of March 25: Site visits to finalists’ home districts

Brand stressed that there has been and will continue to be several opportunities for parents/guardians to become involved in the process.
