WILMINGTON, MA — At Monday night’s Board of Selectmen Meeting, Town Manager Jeff Hull announced the appointment of Christine Touma-Conway, Esq. to the position of Town Clerk.
“Ms. Touma-Conway was more recently the City Clerk in Methuen for seventeen years,” wrote Hull in a memo he summarized to Selectmen. “In her capacity as City Clerk, she was responsible for the supervision and training of staff, city-wide elections, oversight of licensing for alcohol and automobile establishments, records management, and vital records. She served as the Records Assess Officer.”
Touma-Conway maintained a private general practice in criminal and civil law. She has also served as a revenue agent for the IRS. Touma-Conway received her Bachelor of Science (Journalism & Marketing) and Juris Doctor, both from Suffolk University.
“Christine is a strong addition to the management team and has a strong commitment to public service,” added Hull.
Touma-Conway began as Town Clerk Designee on Monday. Longtime Town Clerk Sharon George will be retiring at the end of February after nearly 13 years serving the town.
