Poetry Circle *RR

Love poetry? The poetry circle is a great opportunity to meet other poets and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Coffee with a Cop
Wednesday, February 20, 10 am
Drop in, grab a tea or coffee, and chat with a police officer. Learn about the rights of the public as well as the roles and responsibilities of Police and Community in a relaxed and open setting. All questions welcome.

Current Affairs Discussion Group *RR
Wednesday, February 20, 7 pm
This group is for all who would like to broaden their knowledge of current national and international affairs. You will have the opportunity to discuss topical events and learn from others. Led by facilitator Dan Hall.

Swinging the American Songbook *RR
Thursday, February 21, 2:30 pm
Get your toes tapping as Steve Rudolph’s Swing Fever Trio applies its distinctive jazz styling to the music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and much, much more…and don’t forget Elvis! It’s a joyous sampling of the best in American popular music.

English Conversation Group *RR

Practice speaking English with fellow English language learners in a relaxed environment.  Open to all ability levels.  Led by ESL Teacher and Program Coordinator Susan MacDonald.

What should you know before buying a home? Linda Thomson from Keller Williams Realty will walk you through the home buying process from applying for a mortgage and identifying your price range to home inspections and closing costs. Bring your questions – there will be a Q&A period with Loan Officer Andrew Marquis from Guaranteed Rate and Attorney Chelsea Pettit of Ligris & Associates.

How do you prepare to sell a home? Linda Thomson from Keller Williams Realty will discuss what you’ll want to consider when preparing to sell your house including how to determine current market value, getting your home ready to show, marketing the home, anticipating closing costs, and more. Bring your questions – there will be a Q&A period with Loan Officer Andrew Marquis from Guaranteed Rate and Attorney Chelsea Pettit of Ligris & Associates.

Sound Off A Cappella Concert

Formed in 2013, Sound Off is an award-winning semi-professional a cappella group based in Boston, MA and proud member of the Contemporary A cappella League (CAL). They are young men and women from all different career fields brought together by an unabashed love for a cappella music and performance. While they perform regularly around the Greater Boston area, Sound Off continues to develop a diverse repertoire of modern pop with a soulful twist. Join us for this fun and entertaining “unplugged” concert and some light refreshments!(9thgrade and up, $10 Students, $15 adults)

Need community service hours? Find out if Book Buddies is for you! This fun literacy program pairs a teen volunteer with a child ages 4-8 for one or two three-week sessions. Please complete an application before attending. Grades 9-12

Snow Fort Fest *RR
Tuesday, February 19, 2-3:30 pm
Build snow forts, igloos, and castles, and then take part in an epic snowball competition! Warm up back at the library with hot chocolate. Check the library’s website for location information; depending on weather conditions, the program will take place inside the library. Ages 8+

Jackbox Game Night *RR
Tuesday, February 19, 7 pm
Play these outrageous party game phenomenon packs from the creators of You Don’t Know Jack. Bring your own wifi-enabled device to join the fun. Grades 7-12

Beyond the Fairy Tale: Interactive Theatre Workshop for Kids! with Cindi Haggerty

Join the fun as we bring to life a magical Fairytale about a princess who has lost her smile. By using props, costumes and our imagination, we will learn that sometimes all we need is the gift of kindness and the magic of friendship in order to receive our own happily ever after! Grades K-5

Cookin’ the Books for Teens *RR

Make a recipe from Heather Kim’s Sweet Revenge cookbook, and bring in a batch to share with other teen bakers as you also sample their desserts! Copies are available at the Youth Services Desk; don’t forget to sign up for your recipe when you register. Grades 6-12
