Adult Programs

Fiction Critique Group *RR
Saturday, December 1, 9:15 am

Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials before the meeting. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Labor Market Research *RR
Monday, December 3, 10 am

What’s the outlook of your job search? We’ll find out by investigating the seven points of the MA Unemployment Labor Market Research Worksheet. Learn to research target industries, organizations and positions, review salary ranges and industry trends, and master self-assessment and the informational interview. For this workshop, please come prepared with at least one target industry and/or a target job title that you are considering on your job search. Taught by MassHire staff.

Getting into Genealogy-An Introduction *RR
Monday, December 3, 2:30 pm
In this 90 minute presentation, Diane Brooks-Sherry Merrimack Valley Chapter President of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Inc. will talk about family history and genealogy, genealogy basics, common genealogy tools, tips for staying organized, and research recommendations.

Featured Cookbook: New England Soup Factory Cookbook by Marjorie Druker
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you.  Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online); register and record your recipe selection on the events calendar at Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes!     

Winter Wreath Workshop *RR ( cost $20)

Interested in learning more about blogging in general and WordPress in particular? Or do you already have an idea you want to see come to life? Join technology librarian, Brad McKenna, to see how easily that can be done with WordPress.

Gingerbread Houses*RR
Thursday, December 6, 6:30 pm (cost $10) (limit 20)
Take a trip down memory lane and indulge your sweet tooth as you design and build your very own gingerbread abode. Enjoy the endless decorating options, from frosted candy shingles, to gummy windowpanes and pretzel picket fences; you will love turning your Gingerbread House into an edible work-of-art. With holiday tunes playing and hot cocoa flowing, spread the holiday spirit and invite friends to join you for this special event. Register at main desk

The Nutcracker Reading and Performance
Monday, December 3, 6:30 pm
Ballerinas from the North Atlantic Dance Theater will read and perform a variation of The Nutcracker. Afterwards, children will be invited to participate and learn some simple ballet positions. Ages 4+

World Languages Foreign Film Night *RR

Watch a Spanish film with English subtitles.

Kids’ Council
Wednesday, December 5, 3:45 pm
The library needs you…to tell us what programs you want! Join us for a brainstorming session to come up with spring and summer activities for kids in grades 4-8. Grades 4-8

Drop-In Storytime
Friday, December 7, 10 am
Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft! Space is limited.  Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis. Ages 2-5 and one or more adults

Drop-In Baby Times
Saturday, December 8, 9:30 am

Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.

Library News

Reading Light Calendars
Reading Light Calendars with historic photos are now available at the library. RMLD encourages a donation of a nonperishable food item for the Wilmington Food Pantry when picking up a calendar.

Book Store Next Door Holiday Open House
The Friends of the Library invite you to the Holiday Open House at the Book Store Next Door on Saturday, December 1 from 4pm to 7 pm. Enjoy warm cider and cookies while you shop for holiday gifts. Gift certificates make great stocking stuffers and gifts for teachers!
