In The Community: The Wilmington Department of Veterans’ Services invites all the residents of Wilmington to attend, remember and honor all our past and present veterans at 11:00am on the Wilmington Town Common. In The Community: The Wilmington Police Patrol Officers Union is hosting a coffee and donut breakfast for veterans on Veterans Day from 8am to 10am at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street). The breakfast marks the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice ending World War I.
In The Community: Join Wilmington Youth Hockey this weekend for its “Try Hockey for Free Day” from 1:30pm to 3pm at Ristuccia Memorial Arena (190 Main Street) in Wilmington. Has your child been wanting to try hockey? This is the event to learn more about youth hockey in Wilmington. Equipment will be available. You will need to bring your own skates. In The Community: Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) will host a firearm and knife show, featuring 500 tables, on Saturday, November 10, 2018, 9am-5pm, and Sunday, November 11, 2018, 9am-3pm. Participants can buy, sell and trade sporting, antique, and collectible firearms; custom and high quality knives; and various militaria. The general admission fee for adults is $12. The event is hosted by New Mart Promotions of Massachusetts and promoted by the NRA-affiliated Westchester Collectors Club.
In The Community: The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm. Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
MBTA Reminder: There will be no weekend commuter rail service on the Lowell Line (Wilmington Center) until December. A free shuttle bus will be available. Learn more HERE.
