WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Friday, October 19, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: Sunny, with a high near 62. Southwest wind 5 to 13 mph.

In The Community: It’s become a Wilmington Halloween season tradition. Haunted Woods is back for its fifth year. Haunted Woods features nine scary attractions on the grounds of the Harnden Tavern (430 Salem Street, Wilmington).  Attractions include a 3D Glow/Clown Room; Abandoned Classroom; “Black Out” Room with maze in the dark; Bloody Butcher Shop; Cemetery/Junkyard; Crazy Scientists’ Lab; a Farmer’s Worst Nightmare; Funeral Home; and Insane Asylum.

The event runs from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on Friday, October 19; Saturday, October 20; Friday, October 26; and Saturday, October 27.

Tickets cost $7 for students and $10 for adults. Parking is free and located behind the Harnden Tavern, off of Woburn Street. Proceeds from the haunt will benefit the Wilmington Town Museum at the Harnden Tavern for the upkeep of the historical property. In The Community: Join Lyndell’s Bakery (720 Broadway, Ball Square) this weekend — Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21 — for its 6th Annual Sean Collier Memorial Fundraiser Weekend. The event raises funds for the Somerville Auxiliary Police’s Sean Collier Memorial Scholarship, which helps Somerville High School seniors pursuing a career in law enforcement.

$1 from every sale of the bakery’s custom half moon with Sean’s Somerville PD badge #310 on it will be donated to the Scholarship Fund. The bakery will also have raffles for customers to take a chance on, including sports memorabilia. All raffle proceeds will also be donated to the Scholarship Fund.  Free coffee will be served. The Bakery raised more than $35,000 from its five previous Sean Collier Memorial Fundraiser Weekends.

In The Community: The Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a conference on strengthening marriage and family (“A Grace Filled Marriage”) on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm on Friday, followed by a session at 6:30pm. The Saturday session will begin at 9am. The conference, featuring Stephanie Christensen & Erik Christensen, is free of charge is you sign up in advance. Childcare provided at all sessions. Have a question? Email office@wilcong.org.
