The Wilmington Insider For October 14, 2018

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Sunday, October 14, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind 3 to 8 mph.

In The Community: The Wilmington Farmers Market finishes its season today from 10am to 1pm on the Swain Green (across from the Town Common). See this week’s lineup HERE. There will be a petting zoo from 10:30am to 11:30am.

In The Community: The Wilmington Town Museum and the Wilmington Minuteman Company are holding a family-friendly Harvest Festival from 1pm to 4pm at the Harnden Tavern (430 Salem Street). Experience old-fashioned farm life with open-pit cooking and other food skills, candle-making, games of the past and more.  Tour Wilmington’s 18th century house museum. See the Wilmington Company of Minutemen at their headquarters. Enjoy some apple crisp and other seasonal goodies. Free admission.

In The Community: Join us for an afternoon of songs – Broadway Style! Wilmington High School (WHS) students will once again delight their audience with selections from hit Broadway shows in this year’s Broadway Revue! Join us at 3pm in the Wilmington United Methodist Church’s hall (87 Church Street, Wilmington). Admission is $10 for students in advance and $12 at the door. Your admission includes refreshments. Advance ticket price is $10 for all. For advance purchase, mail a check payable to WHS CATS (postmarked no later than 10/5) at PO Box 115, Wilmington, MA 01887. You will receive confirmation and your name will be added to a will call list. 100% of the show’s proceeds will benefit the WHS Choral and Theatre Support (CATS) parent group. The WHS CATS mission is to provide scholarships to eligible graduating WHS seniors as well as providing supplementary funds to the groups they support as needed and as they are able. Please come out and support these talented students!

In The Community: The WHS DECA Club is holding a Car Wash from 10am to 2pm at Wilmington High.

In The CommunityThe Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.

MBTA Reminder: There will be no weekend commuter rail service on the Lowell Line (Wilmington Center) until December. A free shuttle bus will be available. Learn more HERE.
