WILMINGTON, MA — We’re One Wilmington always believes many people acting together in kindness can total a large difference and no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
WOW is organizing a drive to assist a Wilmington family in need, the fire victims in Lawrence and the Hurricane Victims in Wilmington, North Carolina who have been displaced and evacuated from their homes. It may be weeks or months before they can return to their homes. Some will never be able to return.
WOW is encouraging the citizens of Wilmington to team up and support our neighbors on their massive recovery. This weekend, they hope to “Fill a Truck” for Lawrence, MA and Wilmington, NC.
Items can be dropped off at the Shawsheen School Soccer Field Pavilion on Saturday, September 22 from 9-4 and Sunday, September 23 from 12-4. If you cannot drop off at this location during these times, please email email@example.com arrange for a pick up.
WOW is also looking for volunteers to help collect and organize donations at these times. You can sign up to help at http://www.onewilmington.org/get-involved.
Below is a list of items WOW will be collecting and distributing to all causes.
Suggested items needed include:
- All toiletries
- Alcohol free mouthwash
- Feminine products – tampons, maxi pads
- Adult diapers
- children pull ups
- diapers,baby wipes
- canned non perishable foods
- water,gatorade,juice boxes
- socks,underwear (children and adults)
- new baby clothes
- coloring books,crayons,puzzles(No toys)
- Hand sanitizer(alcohol free preferably)
- clorox/lysol wipes
- tooth brushes, tooth paste
- toilet paper
- paper towels
- formula already mixed
- gift cards (Walmart,CVS,Visa)
- small household items (i.e. kitchen basics)
- new or gently used clothes of all sizes
- Laundry detergent
- Dryer sheets
