5 QUICK QUESTIONS with Wilmington Writer Arnold Peterson

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are five quick questions with Wilmington writer Arnold Peterson.

Background

Peterson is a member of one of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s writing groups. Peterson contributed to the groups’ brand new anthology, “The Writers Next Door.”

A book launch event is taking place on Monday, August 20 at 7pm at the Wilmington Memorial Library. At the launch, the book’s writers will participate in a panel discussion and a book selling/signing. Refreshments will be served. All proceeds from book sales will be donated to Friends of the Library.

#1) What is the story you contributed to the anthology called? What is it about? Why did you write it?

Browmaster, Were those Angels? is my story. It’s a story about a hike in the White Mountains, which had some unusual consequences. I wrote this hoping it would make hikers aware of dangers that can happen without warning.

#2) Why did you join the library’s Writing Group? Do you find it beneficial?

I joined the group to improve my writing. It has helped. How much it has helped I will find out when I start publishing something that the group has helped me.

#3) Have you written anything else outside the group? Where can my readers find your other works?

In high school I had an essay published in about 1955. As an engineer I published 2 articles in the 70’s. Since 200,5 I have been writing reviews for outdoor equipment for http://www.backpackgeartest.org/ as Arnold Peterson and http://4alloutdoors.org/ as Arnie P. In the latter I have also published several articles. My website is https://browmaster.wordpress.com/.

#4) What advice would you give to other aspiring Wilmington writers?

You will have to enjoy what you are writing. There is a lot of good competition and your enthusiasm will show and will be your inspiration when you need it.

#5) What are you looking forward to the most regarding the Book Launch Event on August 20?

I look forward to a successful launch. Our book is quite diversified.
