PHOTOS: Wilmington 12-Year-Old Baseball Team To Compete In Cooperstown Tourney Next Week

WILMINGTON, MA — Twelve Wilmington 12-year-old boys are participating in next week’s Cooperstown Dreams Park Baseball Tournament at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.  The Wildcats, who depart Wilmington today, will be competing against teams from across the country.

This is just the third time a Wilmington has ever had a 12-year-old team in the tournament.

The team consists of some amazing baseball talent. Click on the images below to enlarge:

The team’s opening game of the tournament will take place on Sunday, August 4 at 11am against the Chaska Hawks from Minnesota. The team will play again later that same  afternoon at 4:30pm against the Ronknokomra Cardinals of New York. The first three days (six games) of their schedule can be found HERE. The team’s schedule is subject to change due to weather.

  1. Coincidentally, my family and I will be in Cooperstown August 10-13, 2018. I hope we will have an opportunity to root on our hometown heroes! I hope either the parents or the coaches will contact me via Facebook, so we can ‘touch base’ (pun intended).

    1. Never mind! The article that was posted on August 3, 2018 on the Wilmington Apple said they were in Cooperstown “Next Week” which is when my family and I will be there. My husband pointed out the fact that their games are starting August 4, 2018. Good luck Wildcats!
