STATE REP RACE: Candidate Erika Johnson Discusses Her Campaign For State Rep With ‘Your Tewksbury Today’

TEWKSBURY, MA — Your Tewksbury Today Editor Bill Gilman recently interviewed State Representative Candidate Erika Johnson (D-Wilmington).

Johnson answers the following questions:

  • What prompted you to get into the race?
  • What do you say to people who say you’re too young to run for office?
  • Do you favor term limits for the state legislature?
  • What are your thoughts on Massachusetts being the last state in the country to pass its budget? How can the budget process be improved?
  • What are you hearing from the residents of Tewksbury and Wilmington? What are their top concerns?
  • How are you trying to set yourself apart from the other candidates and get your message out?
  • Have you seen a reinvigoration of the progressive wing of the Democratic party over the past 1-2 years?
  • What are your thoughts on more women running for elected office?
  • Do you believed contested primaries strengthen or weaken parties?
  • What should the voters know about Erika Johnson — the person and the candidate?

  1. So you said that the democratic platform adopted at the state convention is the most progressive in the country? Then the same being true is that the 19th District is Moderate-Conservative leaning which is why your campaign has very little chance of winning. So my follow up question is will you support the winner of the Democratic primary?

  2. An actual Socialist in our race! Isn’t this exciting?! *sarcasm off* We spoiled our and they are ruining our country!
