WILMINGTON, MA — The Rookie and Single-A Jamborees were played on Saturday, June 23 at Rotary Park. The first game featured teams with both rookie and single-A players. One team was made up of Ryan Heos, Matthew Roque, Ryan MacPherson, Justin and Ryan Gallozzi, Grady Considine, Marco McCollem, and Nico McCollem from the Rookie Giants as well as Max Snapausky from the single-A Giants. Their opponent was a team composed of Kyle Spencer from the single-A Cardinals, Patrick Taylor and Liam Callahan from the rookie Cardinals, and Charlie Chioccariello, Griffin Kelley, Blake Jackson, and Liam Zollner, all of the single-A Braves. The game showcased a lot of offense as every player hit the ball. There were some great plays in the field which kept each team from pulling away from the other.
The second game was played by two single-A teams. The Astros fielded Robbie DeMedeiros, JC Morad, Nick Maninos, Lex Limoli, Sam Beaudoin, Jake Gryglik, Masen Voner, Jackson Cipolle, Dylan Costantiello, and Caden Merritt along with the Royals’ Dany Fogg. The Cardinals brought Tommy Demers, Zack Maiella, Max Glazer, Griffin Crowe, Patrick Moriarty, Spencer Walker, Matthew Norton, Brendan Cohen, Tommy MacGilvray, and Justice Eutsay along with Nick Melaragni from the Royals. This game featured some outstanding hitting as many players took aggressive swings and belted balls well into the outfield. There were some spectacular plays in the field as well, including diving catches and sharp grounders that were gobbled up and fired to first for outs.
Both games showed that the future of Wilmington Little League is in good hands!
There was a downpour at the end of the first game so there is no picture.
