Dear Editor,
Why did the Tewksbury Republican Town Committee endorse Pina Prinzivalli for State Representative of the 19th Middlesex District?
Pina Prinzivalli introduced herself to the Tewksbury Republican Town Committee (TRTC) in September of 2017. She applied for membership in October, prior to announcing her candidacy, and was voted in as a member in November. As a result, Pina took the opportunity to represent Tewksbury as a delegate to the 2018 Massachusetts Republican Convention.
When Pina announced her candidacy in October there were many that thought she was a long shot, to say the least, going up against a 40-year incumbent. After getting to know her and knowing the issues she has tried to champion, as well as recent events, Pina is no longer a long shot.
Pina has been working hard from the start to unseat a 40-year incumbent, creating her own opportunity. She did not wait for a vacancy to create this opportunity.
Pina is not a political insider or a career politician, nor is she looking to be one.
Pina has defined goals she wishes to accomplish on Beacon Hill and has been working hard to achieve some of these goals even before being elected to office:
- Pina has collected and continues to collect signatures for the ballot question to reduce the sales tax and establish an annual tax-free weekend as part of her goal to reduced our tax burden.
- Pina has signed a Taxpayer protection Pledge opposing all efforts to increase taxes.
Pina has pledged to never vote herself a pay raise and will donate to charity any increase in base pay. - Pina is opposed to the “Red Flag” law and will continue to file Mr. Miceli’s “An Act Relative to Constitutional Rights” that prevents cities and towns from creating their own restrictive gun laws.
- As a pro-life candidate, Pina helped collect signatures for a constitutional amendment to end taxpayer funded abortions in Massachusetts.
- Pina is committed to holding activist judges accountable. She has joined Representatives Jim Lyons, Geoff Diehl and Shaunna O’Connell’s effort to impeach Superior Court Judge Timothy Feeley.
- Pina is opposed to Sanctuary cities and to Massachusetts becoming a Sanctuary State for illegal immigrants.
Pina will not be intimidated by the Democratic machine as is evident in her decision to run against Representative Miceli.
As a bank branch manager, Pina has demonstrated that she has the leadership quality to legislate responsibly for Tewksbury and Wilmington.
Pina has already shown that she is willing to fight for her core values and has shown whom she will align herself with once in office.
Pina has also shown her determination to create opportunities to achieve her goals rather than wait for opportunities to fall in her lap.
This is why the Tewksbury Republican Town Committee is proud to endorse Pina Prinzivalli’s candidacy to become the next State Representative of the 19th Middlesex District.
Sincerely,
Ruth Chou,
Chairman of the Tewksbury Republican Town Committee and
Republican State Committeewoman for the 2nd Essex and Middlesex Senatorial District

It’s a great sign that they had to “explain” their endorsement. The best endorsements are the ones that require defending. Hehehe. Heck of a candidate you got there Ms. Chou!
